The rain started in the middle of the first day in this match which took place on September 27. Then there was no play on the second and third day. Later on on the fourth day the play started but the outfield was not good enough. Due to which the ICC found the outfield of this venue unsatisfactory for playing.

India won the match by 7 wickets even though it was not played for more than two and a half days due to rain. They all out Bangladesh for 233 runs in the first innings, Bangladesh can score 146 runs in the second innings. Batting at T20 pace, India declared the first innings with 285 runs in 34.4 overs. They then passed the required 98 runs to win in 17.2 overs, losing just 3 wickets.

Of the four other Test venues India have played in the 2024–25 season, the three New Zealand series in Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai have been rated 'satisfactory'. Chennai's MA Chidambaram got 'very good' rating.

On the same day, ICC has rated the venues of both the Pakistan-England series. Pakistan lost to England by an innings and 47 runs despite scoring 556 runs in the first innings in the first Test in Multan. Later, in the second Test in Multan and in the third Test in Rawalpindi, they made spin-assisted wickets and beat England in both the matches to win the series. Pakistan's spinners have taken all of England's 40 wickets in these two Tests. But both the venues got 'satisfactory' rating.
