BNP's rally has started in the capital on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. The party's general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the rally in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan at 3:30 pm on Friday. The rally will end at Manik Mia Avenue.
It can be seen from the surface that in the rally, the leaders and activists of various organizations including Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP, Nationalist Youth Dal, Chhatra Dal, Shramik Dal, Svechchasebak Dal, Mahila Dal, Matsyajeevi Dal, Ulama Dal have joined the rally under different banners. They are chanting slogans all over the streets.
Different colored caps and genjis were visible to show the presence of the organization. Various banners and placards were in hand. The rally proceeded towards Manik Mia Avenue with patriotic songs, baul songs, beat of drums and slogans on microphone.
Earlier, around 11 o'clock BNP leaders and workers from various wards and surrounding districts of Dhaka city gathered in Nayapaltan in the form of small processions. Already, a few people in the surrounding areas including Nayapaltan, Kakrail and Fakirapool have become depopulated.
The rally will start from Nayapaltan and end at Manik Mia Avenue via Kakrail Mor, Kakrail Mosque, Matsya Bhavan, Engineering Institute, Shahbagh, Banglamotor, Karwan Bazar, Farmgate. Acting Chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman will deliver the closing speech there. Before the start of the rally, a short rally was held in front of the party office.
