In connection with the attack and vandalism of the BNP office two years ago in Dumki of Patuakhali, a case has been filed against 88 leaders and activists including the president-general secretary of the upazila Awami League. Youth Dal leader Mortaza Billah filed the case at Dumki police station on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the police arrested four accused in this incident on the same day. Four leaders and activists of the defendant Awami League were arrested late at night in North Srirampur and Lebukhali Union of Srirampur Union of the upazila.
The arrested are UP member of Ward No. 4 of Srirampur Union and member of Upazila A.League Md. Humayun Kabir Mridha (45), Vice President of Lebukhali Union A. League. Chiddikur Rahman Akon (65), Md. Shahidul Akon (45) and Saidul Islam Titu Akon (35).
In the statement of the case, it was alleged that on March 5, 2022, the disorderly leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations attacked BNP's protest program and threw bricks, vandalized and looted the BNP office.
Upazila BNP President Md. Khalilur Rahman said that the victim has filed a case. So that the guilty are brought to justice and at the same time no one innocent is victimized.
Upazila Awami League president Abul Kalam called Azad's mobile number several times to inquire about the complaint, but it was switched off. According to Dumki police station, 4 people arrested in this case have been arrested and sent to court.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumki Police Station Firoz Ahmed confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the arrested accused have been sent to jail on the orders of the court.
