CPM's politburo member and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is one of the partners of the anti-allegation alliance 'India'.
By-elections will be held on November 13 in Wayanad, which was left by the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka's main fight there is against former MLA and CPI state co-editor Satyen Mokeri and BJP's Nari Morcha state general secretary Navaya Haridas.
Vijayan alleged that the Welfare Party, a close organization of Jamaat, has voted in favor of Priyanka. He said that the mask of secularism of Congress has completely fallen. Vijayan has also in the past accused the Congress of collusion with 'pro-Islamist forces' in India.
He also accused the Indian Union Muslim League, the second largest force of the Congress-led alliance in Kerala, of communalism in tune with the BJP.
Incidentally, in the last Lok Sabha elections, Rahul contested from Rae Bareli and Waynar, two constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. He won by a margin of more than three and a half lakhs in both the centres. Later, Rahul left the Wenar constituency, keeping the Rae Bareli seat.
Statistics show that the Congress has never lost in Kerala's Venad Lok Sabha seat created in the 2009 seat realignment.
