Banned Chhatra League leader Shipon arrested for attacking students

The banned Chhatra League president of Feni Polytechnic Institute, Habibur Rahman Shipon, has been arrested by the police in connection with the attack on the students during the anti-discrimination movement.

A team of Burichong police station arrested him on Thursday night. Burichong police station OC Azizul Haque confirmed the arrest.

Shipon's village home is in Haripur village of Burichong upazila. His father's name is Humayun Kabir.

Locals said that Shipon stayed in Burichong area and attacked Nazmul, the night watchman of North Haripur Government Primary School. He was accompanied by some other activists of the banned Chhatra League.


The OC said that the banned Chhatra League president of Feni Polytechnic Institute, Habibur Rahman Shipon, was involved in the attack on students during the anti-discrimination movement. He was arrested on the basis of secret information. Legal action is pending against him.
