A young man named Nazrul Chowdhury committed suicide by slitting his throat with a stick in Faridpur's Bowlmari. The incident took place in Jaypasha Paschim Para village of Parameshwardi Union of the upazila on Friday afternoon. On receiving information, the Doharnagar outpost police recovered the body.

Nazrul Chowdhury (35) is the son of deceased Chhattar Chowdhury of that village. He was ill for a long time. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Syed Abdur Rauf Siddiqui, a former deputy commander of Upazila Freedom Fighters, a resident of Joypasha village, said that Nazrul committed suicide by cutting his throat with a stick in the kitchen around 3 pm on Friday.
Omar Sharif, in-charge of Doharnagar police outpost, said that the sick Nazrul Chowdhury is mentally unstable. Before this, he had taken the rope around his neck two to three times. Now the police recovered the body and sent it to the police station. The body will be sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem on Saturday. The police officer said that a wrongful death (UD) case will be filed in this regard.
