5 people were injured in the clash between the two sides in Kaliganj of Jhenaidah. The incident took place in Kola Bazar area of the upazila around 8 pm on Friday.

The injured are Cola Union BNP General Secretary Shukur Ali (60), Siddique Hossain (40), Jalil Rana (45), Sajjadur Rahman (35) and Nazrul Islam (50). Meanwhile, seriously injured Siddique Hossain has been referred to Jessore.
According to the locals, there was an argument between the supporters of BNP leader Shukur Ali and Juba Dal member Jalil Rana over the formation of a village committee on Thursday. As a result, the opponents hacked and injured Shukur Ali in Kola Bazar around 8 o'clock on Friday night. At that time, a chase and chase happened between the two groups. Four people were injured. Later, locals rescued the injured and took them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Saiful Islam Firoz, senior joint secretary of the Central Volunteers' Party, went to the hospital after receiving the news.
Kaliganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Manik Chandra Gain said, he himself went to the Cola market after receiving the news. The two sides clashed over dominance. He also said that the situation is normal now.
