Dhamrai (Dhaka): A case has been filed against 192 Awami League leaders and activists, including two chairmen of former upazila and union parishads. Mohammad Jewel Talukdar, son of Mohammad Jalal Talukdar, son of Kanthal Shimul village, Ghatail, Tangail district filed the case at Dhamrai police station on Thursday night. He is currently living on rent in the house of Mohammad Rabiul Islam in New Dakshinpara Mahalla of Dhamrai Town.

According to the details of the case, on August 5, the Awami League leaders led by Upazila Parishad Chairman Mohammad Abdul Latif, Jadavpur Union Parishad Chairman Mizanur Rahman Mizo ambushed unarmed students and protesters with batons and firearms. At that time the plaintiff was shot.

Barisal: A case has been filed against Barisal City Corporation (BCC) former mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, panel mayor Rafiqul Islam Khokon and 46 employees. Rezaul Kabir, assistant engineer of the water department of the city building, filed the case in the Metropolitan Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday. Judge Al-Faisal directed the OC of Kotwali Model Police Station to investigate the allegations and submit a report.


The plaintiff mentioned in the case, BCC inaugurated the month-long cleaning program on December 26, 2018. On that day, the plaintiff came to Sadar Road with a rally. During the inauguration of the program, the then mayor Sadiq Abdullah's body was splashed with dirty water from the drain. Sadiq Abdullah got angry and punched him hard on the nose. When the plaintiff Rezaul Kabir fell down on the street, the other accused beat him to death. Then left him on the street. The plaintiff also alleged that he threatened to kill her if she files a case in this regard.
