He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the International Buddhist Vihara at Merul Badda in the capital on Friday afternoon.

The army chief said that many people have come to this conference from the hilly areas. We want the day to be celebrated like this every year. He said, hill region is a great asset of our country. Whatever is needed for peace there will be done.

As every year by Bangladesh Buddhist Federation, this year also in Merul Badda International Buddhist Vihara has been celebrated with great enthusiasm and solemn religious spirit.


Bhadanta S. Lokjit Mahather was present as Chief Dharmadesh in the event under the chairmanship of Bhadanta Dharmapriya Mahather, Vice-Sanghara of Bangladesh Sangharaj Bhikshu Mahasabha.

Ambassador of Thailand in Dhaka Makawadi Sumitmore, Acting High Commissioner of Australia Nardia Simpson and Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Manchung were present as special guests in the event.
