Vladimir Putin said that relations between India and Russia have a high level of mutual trust and the two countries are strengthening bilateral relations in all aspects.

Putin said India should definitely be on the list of superpowers with its population of around 1.5 billion, ancient culture and fastest growing country in the world in terms of economic growth.

Referring to India , he further said that it is a great country and we are building relations with India in all aspects. India now tops the world in terms of population and its population is growing by around 10 million every year.

He mentioned that India is leading other countries in the world economically.

Russian news agency Tass reported that Putin added that the speed and direction of relations between the two countries is determined based on the current reality and that bilateral cooperation is increasing manifold every year.

Regarding Russia's defense and security cooperation with India, he said, Indian armed forces are using numerous Russian military equipment and there is high trust in this relationship.

Citing the BrahMos cruise missile project as an example, Putin said, "We have made this missile suitable for use in three different environments - air, sea and land." These projects carried out in the interests of India's security are still ongoing.

He said, it is widely known and no one opposes it. These projects demonstrate the high level of mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries.

Referring to the border dispute between India and China, Putin said that there are some complications between the two countries. But both the countries are looking towards the future under intelligent leadership and looking for a compromise and this compromise will be certain at some point.

He further said that if this attitude continues, a compromise will be found and it will definitely be possible.

Relations between India and China have deteriorated since the Galwan Valley clash in June 2020. It is considered to be the most intense military conflict in the last few decades. However, recently India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that after long discussions, an agreement has been reached between the two countries. This is seen as a significant step in ending the more than four-year standoff, with patrols and troop withdrawals along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.
