British High Commissioner Sarah Cook met the Foreign Secretary on Wednesday (November 6). At this time, the foreign secretary made this request.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the request of the Foreign Secretary, the British High Commissioner assured to consider the matter.
At the same time, the High Commissioner reiterated the UK's commitment to Bangladesh's democratic transition and strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting discussed partnership between Bangladesh and the UK, mutual interests, particularly trade and commerce, recovery of smuggled assets, maritime security, climate change, migration and labor mobility and Rohingya issues.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretary acknowledged the British government's support for the reform initiatives of the interim government in a smooth democratic transition to build a non-discriminatory and prosperous Bangladesh.
He expressed satisfaction with the Bangladeshi diaspora in the UK, the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries built on the solid foundation of commonwealth heritage and common values.
The British High Commissioner reiterated the UK's commitment to democratic transition and strengthening bilateral relations, citing the relationship between the people of Bangladesh and the UK and political and economic relations.
