For the first time in history, India has been swept in a three-match Test series at home. This loss against New Zealand has made it difficult for India to play in the final of the Test World Championship. The equation stands that they must win the series in Australia by 4-0. Which is quite difficult. In this situation, the board BCCI has summoned India's head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma.

It is known that Rohit and Gambhir were interrogated for 6 hours by the two top officials of the board, BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jai Shah. At this time, various difficult questions were asked about the reason for the loss and the playing style of the cricketers, Gambhir's coaching and the wicket. Also asked about the preparation of the team for the upcoming tour of Australia.

But for Rohit and Gambhir after the debacle against the Kiwis, being subjected to this cross-examination by board officials may seem like mental torture.

In this regard, according to the Indian news agency PTI, the head of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, coach Gambhir and captain Rohit had to answer various questions about the defeat to the Kiwis. Why a high-turned wicket was built for the series in particular, why Yashprit Bumrah was rested for the third Test and Gambhir's coaching style were discussed. The two top brass of the Indian cricket board also questioned some of the team management decisions taken at various stages of the series.

On the condition of anonymity, a BCCI source told PTI, 'Such a meeting was bound to take place after such a disaster, which lasted for 6 hours straight. The Indian team is going to Australia ahead. The BCCI wants the team to turn around, and also wants to know what the think-tank thinks about it.'

The source further said, 'Bumrah has been rested as a precaution but this has been discussed. Even though India is not doing very well on rank turner wickets, why such a wicket, all this has been discussed.'

Note that India's next challenge is against Australia at their home ground. The 5-Test Border-Gavaskar series will begin on November 22.
