Producer Mustafa Sarayer Farooqui speaks in a tone of protest on various issues. Since the beginning of the anti-discrimination movement, he was active on social media supporting the students. This time was no exception. Farooqui posted a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday night. There he again protested against the fascists.
Here is his status for the readers:
He wrote, 'I have written many times before that Bangladesh's cultural movement is completely separated from 'time'. The combined cultural alliances, group theater federations, and short film forums that play as Awami League's B-team have become irrelevant to the new generation. Think once, what history would have judged an artist during Hitler's era if he poured water at the base of his tree let alone protesting Hitler's crimes against humanity?
He also wrote, you can be an Awami League supporter, a BNP supporter, but if you are an artist, under no circumstances can you speak for a fascist involved in state-sponsored crimes like genocide, disappearances, or produce consent for fascism. Now think about the cultural-political role of these three organizations in the last sixteen years. Does that mean these foot soldiers have to hurt? Bearing in mind the fear of displeasure of the brothers and sisters who are in favor of the revolution, I will say that I am personally against it. Also, it should be kept in mind that the blood stain has not yet dried, the trial of the murderer-looter has not started, but there is a conspiracy to de-stabilize the interim government through provocations in various places. You listen to the killer's phone conversation. Do you see him repenting or inciting more murders? A cooling period should be allowed after revolution. If not, how can I expect space for liberal criticism in this situation? I don't know the answer to that.'
