Two friends riding a motorcycle died after losing control of the motorcycle and hitting the cemetery wall in Muladi, Barisal. The accident took place near the bridge near Nomarhat Bazar in Charkalekhan Union of the upazila around 7 pm on Friday. At this time, two others were seriously injured.
The deceased are - son of Samsul Haque Bhuiya of Lakshmipur village of Charkalekhan Union. Son of Swapan Bhuiyan (35) and Rashid Bepari. Kawsar Hossain (25). Both of them were autorickshaw drivers by profession.
The injured are the son of Alam Bepari of the same village. Naim (25) and pedestrian Kayetmara village. Lokman Chowkidar (62).
Chairman of the local Charkalekhan Union Parishad (UP). Mirazul Islam Sardar confirmed the truth of the incident.
He said two people died in the accident and two others were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at Pangu Hospital. Among them, old Lokman Chowkidar broke his leg and Naim suffered a facial injury.
Swapan Bhuiyan's brother Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan said that Swapan left the autorickshaw at home on Friday evening and went out on a motorcycle. He left for Nomarhat Bazar with two other autorickshaw drivers Kawsar and Naim on that motorcycle. Nearing the market, the motorcycle lost control and crashed into the wall of a graveyard on the side of the road. Swapan died on the spot when all the three were thrown from the motorcycle.
The locals rescued the injured and took them to the village doctor in the market and gave them first aid. As the situation was critical, they were sent to Dhaka at night. Kawsar died around 11 pm. Naeem and Lokman Chowkidar were admitted to the National Orthopedic and Rehabilitation (Pangu) Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
