TCB Spokesperson Humayun Kabir said this in a press briefing on the advance preparation for Ramadan at the Tejgaon regional office in the capital on Saturday (November 9) morning.

He said, 'All preparations have been made on the occasion of Ramadan. The products which are imported have also been prepared. There will be no shortage of goods in Ramadan.'

Oil, pulses, sugar as well as dates and chickpeas will be given to Dhaka and other city corporation areas. Agreements have already been made for chickpeas and dates. The product will reach the TCB warehouse by January, added the TCB spokesperson.

Humayun Kabir said, 'One person should not get more than one person from a family. That is why smart family cards are being made. A letter has been sent to the district administration based on the complaint against the dealers. Dealer recruitment is now closed. Notification will be given if dealer is required in future.'

He also said, 'Products are not being hindered from reaching the local level. But the monitoring is not done properly. The support needed to go right to the consumer is lacking.'

At present there is a problem in the supply of products as the local representatives are not in their respective areas. A letter has been sent to DC office and City Corporation to solve this problem, TCB spokesperson said.

He said, 'Local administration is responsible for distribution and monitoring. Arrangements are being made for meetings to motivate them.
