Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first in the series-saving match against Afghanistan. Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out due to injury and Zakir Ali has made his debut as a wicket-keeper batsman.

Nasum Ahmed has also got a place in the eleventh. The spinner was out of the national team since the last ODI World Cup. He finally got a chance in the eleventh. Rishad Hossain dropped from the XI to give him a chance. The rest of the XI remains unchanged.
Earlier, wicketkeeper Batter Zaker made his debut in T20 and Test. This is the first time he is entering the field in ODI. Zaker is the 149th cricketer to make his ODI debut.
Earlier, Afghanistan put up a collection of 235 runs in the first ODI in Sharjah. In response to which he came down to bat after accumulating 120 runs on the scoreboard at the expense of 2 wickets on the wicket called Dhas. Bangladesh lost the remaining 8 wickets while scoring the next 23 runs. Dramatically all out for 143 runs, Bangladesh lost by a big margin of 92 runs.
