A young man named Alamgir Hossain was killed in an attack by his opponent due to a dispute over land in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj. The deceased is the son of deceased Golam Mostafa of Ranibari Chandpur-Gabatala village of Chakkirti union of the upazila.

The incident took place at Ranibari Chandpur area of ​​the upazila around 11:30 am on Saturday. At least 15 people were injured on both sides.

Locals and eyewitnesses said that there has been a dispute over Alamgir's land with his opponent Monglu for a long time. Alamgir and his brothers stopped the opponents when they went to cut mango trees in the morning. At one stage of the discussion, both sides clashed with indigenous weapons.

Alamgir Hossain died on the spot due to the opponent's attack. At least 15 people were injured on both sides. The injured were rescued and admitted to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Three people have been shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Inspector (Investigation) of Shibganj Police Station Arman Hossain said that after receiving the information, the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to the 250-bed Chapainawabganj District Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. The family of the deceased is preparing to file a case at the police station.
