Earlier, a video of Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahfuzur Rahman in plain clothes counting bribe money at a shop in Hajiganj went viral on social media.

In the video, it can be seen that SI Mahfuzur Rahman is sitting in that chair in a happy mood. He says, I have asked 10 thousand rupees. A person sitting in front says, 'Sabure mewa fruit.' The police officer paid attention to him and raised his finger and said, not even a single rupee would have been less.

The person sitting in front says, 'Sit, sit a little.' SI then smiled. He gently clapped his hand over his face and said, 'It's over, now Tia.' It is known that Mahfuzur Rahman traded large sums of bribes while working at Faridganj police station. But even after coming to Hajiganj from that police station, he did not change his old nature.

Superintendent of Police of Chandpur Muhammad Abdur Rakib said that after seeing the video footage, departmental action has already been taken against Sub-Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman. He has been withdrawn from Hajiganj Police Station and attached to Chandpur Police Lines. Besides, investigation is being started by a senior police officer as a departmental system.

After the political change in the country on August 5, sub-inspector Mahfuzur Rahman was transferred from Faridganj police station to Hajiganj police station. His village home is in Comilla district. However, even though he was transferred to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) last month and a half ago, he did not leave Hajiganj police station in Chandpur due to the invisible pole.
