Nahid Islam said, I know the students of Jagannath University are in a lot of trouble. A member of my family is a student of Jagannath University. They don't have a residence hall. Therefore, I fully agree with the demands of the students. All their demands are reasonable.
He said, the reality is that we will not be able to complete the hall in three days. But I can hand it over to the army. We have to sit down for that. We will hand over the second campus to the army in three days. I will do what I can.
Students have been insulted inside the secretariat - Nahid said in this context, the secretary and the concerned officials who insulted the students and sent them back will apologize for this. Action will also be taken against them.
Earlier, JOB students stood in front of the Secretariat to demand that the work of the second campus in Keraniganj be handed over to the army, along with five points and inclusion in the pilot project of UGC. The students are still standing in front of the secretariat. The officials and employees have been blocked in the secretariat.
The students' demand is that the corrupt project director appointed during the dictatorship should be brought to justice and a competent army officer should be appointed as the project director within seven days, an announcement should come from the Ministry of Education that the work of the second campus has been handed over to the army and a clear outline of the process of handover.
