Jumbangla Desk: Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will address the opening session of the World Leaders' Climate Action Summit at the Conference of the Parties-29 (Cop29) on Wednesday (November 13). Live the news

The Chief Adviser's press wing said, 'The Chief Adviser will address the opening session of the World Leaders' Climate Action Summit at COP29 on Wednesday between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm Bangladesh time.'

The COP29 summit began on Tuesday (November 11) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Professor Yunus is now in Baku on a four-day visit to attend the Climate Conference.

Professor Yunus had a busy day at the opening day of COP29 in Baku on Tuesday. On that day, he met at least 20 top leaders of different countries and heads of international organizations.

A message sent by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser said that the Chief Adviser met the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish First Lady at the World Leaders Summit at the COP29 venue. President Erdoğan invited him to visit Türkiye. He assured Bangladesh of all possible assistance in its journey of deep reforms and building a prosperous country. Dr. Yunus invited them to visit Bangladesh.


The Chief Adviser also met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Dr. Yunus expressed solidarity with the students in July and thanked the UAE president for releasing 57 Bangladeshi nationals.

Besides, the Chief Adviser met Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Maldives President Mohammad Muijju, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel.

Among others he met the Prime Minister of Belgium, the President of Ghana, the Prime Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the President of Rwanda, the Prime Minister of Albania, the President of Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Vice Presidents of Brazil and Iran, the President of FIFA. Dr. Yunus also met the IOM Director General.
