Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station Zainal Abedin Mondal confirmed the case on Tuesday (November 12) afternoon. Before this, the incident took place in Galdapara village of Kauraid Union of the upazila on Monday (November 11) at noon. Later that day, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sreepur police station Shamim Al Mamun filed a case as plaintiff.

The injured policemen are Sripur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamim Al Mamun (38), Constable Palash (32) and Rafiqul Islam (34).

OC Zainal Abedin Mondal said that the police went to the scene yesterday after receiving a 999 call. Soon after reaching the spot, the accused attacked the police. Three members of the police were beaten and seriously injured. The terrorists vandalized a CNG used by the police. Police took away walkie-talkies, mobile phones and diaries.

Later, additional police went and rescued the injured policemen. In this incident, the police filed a case in the police station as the plaintiff. The OC said that one person has already been arrested and sent to court.

The plaintiff (SI) of the injured Sreepur Police Station Sub-Inspector Shamim Al Mamun said, 'I reached the spot after receiving the information on 999. Soon after reaching Sekan, the terrorists attacked us and started beating us. Two policemen who were with me were beaten and seriously injured. A policeman was beaten with a sharp blade. They took away my walkie-talkie and mobile.'

He further said, 'When additional police reached the spot, they returned the walkie-talkie, mobile phone and diary through a woman. In this incident, I myself filed a case as a plaintiff.
