He said that during the robbery at the house of a woman named Farzana from Azimpur Medical Staff Quarter at around 9 am on November 15, besides taking cash and gold ornaments, they abducted a child. Later the victim's family sought the help of RAB-10 to rescue the abducted child. Later, RAB increased intelligence surveillance with the aim of arresting those involved.

In continuation of this, a team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Nabinagar housing area of ​​Mohammadpur on Friday night (November 15) and removed the mastermind behind this sensational abduction. Fatema Akhter Shapla was arrested.

At that time, 8-month-old baby girl Arisa Jannat Zaifa was rescued and handed over to her family. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested woman gave information about her involvement in robbery and kidnapping.

During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused said that he met the arrested Shapla while traveling to the office with the mother of the abducted child 1 week before the abduction.

At that time, Shapla falsely identified himself as Raisa and his home in Naogaon district to the victim's mother. Accused Fatema Akhter Shapla stated that she is unmarried and a BBA second semester student of a university.


Apart from studies, she said that she works as an office assistant in the transport pool of the Secretariat.

The RAB spokesperson also said that the arrested Fatema Akhtar Shapla told the child's mother Farzana Akhtar that she needs a good room as a sublet to stay in Dhaka and if she rents a house as a sublet, she can study at home all day and also take care of the child. Later, the child's mother agreed to rent the house to Fatema Akhtar as a sublet.

Later, the arrested Fatema Akhtar came home on the afternoon of November 14 and spent the night at the house by paying Tk 2000 as advance rent to the child's mother. The next morning, the arrested Fatema Akhter told the child's mother, Farzana Akhter, that her cousin from the village would come to her house with rice.

This RAB official said that at around 8:30 in the morning, the arrested Fatema Akhter brought 3 people to the house in the name of her cousin. After coming home, at one stage of the conversation, the arrested Fatema Akhtar and her alleged cousins ​​threatened the victim's mother with sharp weapons and tied her hands and feet with a veil.

At that time, arrested Fatema Akhter and her accomplices looted valuables including gold ornaments and cash from the house, the arrested person came home with baby Zaifa and her accomplices hid in different areas of the capital to avoid arrest by law enforcement agencies.

Later, with the help of intelligence surveillance and information technology, Fatema Akhter, who planned the kidnapping, was rescued from the Nabinagar housing area of ​​Mohammadpur of the capital and arrested.

Lieutenant Colonel Muneem Ferdous also said that the arrested Fatema Akhtar and her accomplices had planned to collect the ransom. But due to the rapid spread of the incident through various electronic and print media and social media, they could not demand ransom from the victim's family when it created a nationwide sensation.
