Jumbangla Desk: The police recovered the dead body of six-year-old child Hamida Khanam from Dhankhet of Pakuria village of Khasial Union of Naragati police station in Narail . On Thursday (November 14) evening, the child's body was recovered with his hands tied with a rope. The deceased Hamida is the daughter of Sahanur Sheikh of Pakuria village.

Earlier that day (Thursday) morning, the child's family received a note threatening to kill Hamida's family.

Family and locals said that Hamida's mother was suffering from fever since Thursday morning. That day at noon, Hamida took apples from her mother and went to play with her friends near the house. After not returning home for a long time, the family members started looking for him.

At one point in the evening, the locals found Hamida's dead body in a ditch next to the house. His hands were tied with rope and his body was covered with kachuripana.


Earlier on Thursday morning, Hamidad's family found a letter threatening to kill him. Hamida's family members said that someone left a note near Hamida's house last Wednesday night. The chirkut (letter) threatened to kill the victim Sahanur Sheikh and his brother's children. Hamida's family said that those who threatened to kill her because of past enmity killed her.

Naragati Police Station OC Shariful Islam said, initially, it is believed that the murder happened due to previous enmity. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident.
