Jumbangla Desk: One person was killed in a clash between two sides of BNP in Pabna over dominance. The incident took place in Hemayetpur of Pabna Sadar Upazila on Saturday.
Besides, 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups in Santhia upazila over the formation of BNP's convening committee. And there was a clash between two groups of BNP in Tongi of Gazipur over the control of jhoot business.
The name of the worker who was killed in the clash between two sides of BNP in Pabna Hemayetpur is Jalal Uddin. At this time, five others were injured. A clash took place in Betepar area adjacent to the Mental Hospital of Hemayetpur Union of Sadar Upazila on Saturday.
Jalal, who was killed in a clash between Muntaz Group and Hasem Group over dominance, is the son of Shukur Ali of Kazipara in Hemayetpur Union. He belongs to the Hashem group.
The police and locals said that for a few days there was a dispute between the former chairman of the union and district BNP member Muntaz Ali and the former general secretary of the union BNP, Abul Hashem Group. In the meantime, on Friday night, there was an argument between the leaders and activists of the two groups over the Islamic jalsa. This led to a clash between the two sides on Saturday.
The injured in the clash were rescued and admitted to Pabna Hospital. Among them, Jalal died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Pabna Sadar Police Station OC Abdus Salam said, the body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. After news of Jalal's death spread tension in the area, additional police were deployed to control the situation.
Meanwhile, 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups over the formation of the upazila BNP convening committee in Santhia. Workers-supporters of both sides clashed with indigenous weapons at the upazila headquarters on Saturday. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals including Santhia and Bara.
Santhia Upazila BNP's 24-member convening committee was approved by making Khairun Nahar Khanam Miru as convener, VP Shamsur Rahman as senior joint convener and Salahuddin Khan as member secretary. After that, the workers-supporters of the convening committee took out a procession in front of Pilot High School. On the other hand, opponents marched to demand the cancellation of this committee. At this time, a clash broke out between the two sides.
Munna Helal Uddin, Ibrahim Hossain and Hashem, including 25 people from both sides were injured. Police Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Latif said that the leaders and activists of both groups got involved in the conflict. Action will be taken if complaints are received.
Besides, there was a fight between two sides of BNP and affiliate organizations on Saturday over the attack of Muscat Group in Satish Sharif Market area of Tongir. This incident happened to the leaders and workers of Gazipur Mahanagar Jubodal and Ward No. 51 BNP.
A few days ago, the people of Sajedul Islam, Sheikh Sumon and Iqtiar Khan, Alauddin have been in dispute over the remaining part of Kai Alomonian in the Satish area. Around 1:00 p.m., people from both groups started to fight with native weapons and sticks. At one stage, when Alauddin's people left the scene, people on the other side closed the shops. Vandalizing autorickshaws and causing panic among pedestrians, they left the factory with a truck full of jhoot.
