The death of the son and the mother took place on Saturday (November 16) in the Rathura village of Nagri Union of the upazila last Friday (November 15) night.

Deceased Tariqul Islam is the younger son of Malek Akand of Rathura village of Akand Upazila and Hasnara Begum is the wife of Malek Akand.

On Sunday (November 17) at noon, I spoke to Murad Ahmed Akand, the elder brother of the deceased Tariqul, about the heartbreaking incident.

He said that younger brother Tariqul died of stroke on Friday night. The next day, Saturday after Zohar, the funeral time was fixed for his prayer at his home. However, unable to bear the grief of Tariqul's death, mother Hasnara fell ill on Saturday morning and died in the afternoon. Shortly after the incident, the only elder sister Halima fell seriously ill, unable to bear the grief of the death of her brother and mother. Later the family members admitted him to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

He also said, 2 graves side by side on the same day, my mother and younger brother. Seeing the dead body of my younger brother, mother just said, father, you go, I am coming, and after saying this, mother passed away. I can't look at my father's face now. Father has lost his beloved person, younger brother's wife has lost her greatest support. It seems that we have become very helpless. My younger brother has a 3 year old daughter. This father is crazy when the little girl wakes up and says where is my father? What will he answer then?

It is known that Malek Akande has four sons and one daughter. Tariqul is the youngest among the brothers and sisters. She has a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. He was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral after Zohar Tariqul prayers on Saturday. And on the same day after the prayer of Baad Esha mother, he was buried next to his son. On the same day, the death of son and mother and the illness of sister have cast a shadow of mourning in the area.

Minarul Akand, the younger brother of the deceased Tarikul, the former deputy general secretary of the upazila's Nagri Union Jubo Dal, said that my younger brother Tarikul died of a stroke on Friday night. Baad Zohar would be her funeral prayer but before the funeral mother fell ill and died at 1 pm. Seeing the death of mother and brother, my sister fell ill.
