Jumbangla Desk: The court ordered former Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque to be sent to Comilla Central Jail after the second round of remand in the case of killing eight people by throwing a petrol bomb on a bus in Chauddagram of Comilla. Joint Secretary Kibria who is on remand with him and an Awami League leader of Burichong Zahirul Islam have also been sent to jail.
They were sent to Comilla Central Jail on Friday (November 15) afternoon. Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Farhana Sultana ordered the three to be sent to jail.
Comilla Court Police Inspector Mujibur Rahman confirmed this information on Saturday (November 16) morning.
In this regard, the investigating officer of the case Chauddagram police station SI Moshiur Alam told the media that the four-day remand of the three accused including former IGP Shahidul Haque and joint secretary Kibria has ended. Several important facts were found in the remand. They are being verified. However, for the sake of investigation, this information cannot be disclosed now.
Earlier on Monday (November 11), the three were brought to the court of Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Farhana Sultana and applied for a 10-day remand, but a two-day remand was granted. After the first round of two-day remand, the three accused were produced in the same court on Wednesday (November 13) afternoon and the investigating officer of the case applied for a 10-day remand. Accordingly, the judge granted two days' remand.
