Jumbangla Desk: The Coast Guard arrested 10 fishermen along with 180 maunds of jatka hilsa, 12 lakh meters of current net and two trawlers in Morelganj Upazila of Bagerhat.

Fishermen with fish were detained in Cholombaria area of ​​Panguchi river on their way back from Bay of Bengal on Sunday afternoon.

After setting up a mobile court, Morelganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ranjit Kumar ordered a fine of 5000 taka and 50000 taka to the arrested fishermen. At the same time the current nets were burnt and destroyed.

Coast Guard officer Manjur Hossain said that the arrested fishermen were released after paying a fine of 5,000 taka. And the jatkas have been distributed among 15 local orphanages and poor people by the order of the upazila executive officer.
