Jumbangla Desk: A fire has occurred in the Meghna Group of Industries and Paper factory in Jhauchar area of Sonargaon, Narayanganj. The fire broke out around 5 am on Monday (November 18).

A total of 14 fire service units including Dhaka, Sonargaon, Narayanganj, Demra, Kanchpur, Ghazaria, Port Company are working to control the fire.
It is known that the tissue factory of Meghna Group of Industries located in Meghnaghat Jhauchar area of Sonargaon caught fire early in the morning due to short circuit of electricity. The tissue factory's goods worth several hundred crores of rupees were burnt in the fire.

Fire Service Dhaka Division Deputy Director Salauddin said, about 14 units of Meghna Group including its own fire service are working after receiving information about the fire at the Meghna Group of Industries and Paper factory. It is not yet known how much damage has been caused by the fire.
