Western Pakshi Divisional Railway Authority said that this has happened due to lack of publicity.

Chief Commercial Manager of Western Railway (Rajshahi) Sujit Kumar Biswas inaugurated the special train operation on Tuesday (October 22) at 10 am.

He said, we have come to know only two days ago that agricultural products special train will be launched. The train started its journey from Khulna to Dhaka around 10 am on Tuesday. Due to low campaign, the product will be less on the first day, but he hopes that the transportation of goods will increase in the future.

According to the railway authorities, Bangladesh Railway has taken initiatives to normalize the market situation due to the abnormal increase in the price of agricultural products and to supply raw products at low cost from 16 vegetable producing areas in the capital Dhaka and its surrounding districts.

Due to the high cost of road freight transport, traders can transport agricultural products by railways from 15 regions of South and Central region without any hassle at very low cost. As the cost of transporting vegetables by train is low, the authorities have urged everyone to transport vegetables by rail.

In this regard, the railway authorities and the informed circles of Ishwardi say that the rains have caused extensive damage to vegetables in this region. So no trader is taking raw produce or vegetables from this region. However, the cost of transporting goods by road has increased many times. Therefore, the train will run daily from now on to supply agricultural products to the capital Dhaka at a low cost.

Local businessmen said that by carrying vegetables in this special train, they can deliver them to different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. But the distance of the station from the place of production of agricultural produce is a problem. At the same time, a product takes two transports to reach a certain destination. Again, they are thinking that how much good will the raw vegetables be in the closed room of the train and it is a problem to get the product to the right place.

He also said that the traders will be saved from the transportation cost through special train for agricultural products. And common buyers can buy products at lower prices. We urge the farmers to use this train to bring all types of agricultural products including vegetables hassle free.
