Jumbangla Desk: College student Amina Islam Roza became the symbolic police superintendent of Joypurhat for an hour. The policemen welcomed him and greeted him .
On Monday (November 18) at 12 noon, Roza took over this responsibility from Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdul Wahab in an exceptional event. He is a child researcher.
Roza was given this responsibility under the Women Leadership Encouraging Program in collaboration with 'Yes Bangladesh' under Plan International's 'Girls Takeover' programme.
Superintendent of Police Pratikhi stressed the importance of making the district women-friendly and preventing violence against women.
Along with that, he presented a specific plan to suppress all types of crimes including traffic congestion, extortion, coaching trade and cyber crime on the main roads of the district.
At that time, Joypurhat Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdul Wahab said, 'I am surprised by the issues that have been raised by the symbolic Superintendent of Police. We heard from her about the social ills women are facing including rape, eviction and child marriage. These issues will be looked at very seriously.'
On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, like every year, the National Children Task Force (NCTF) and their associate organization Yes Bangladesh have organized such an inspiring event.
Among the organizers, Shantana Parveen, district volunteer of Yes Bangladesh, said that such an arrangement will awaken the desire of women to occupy the highest positions in the country and they will be one step ahead in fulfilling their dreams.
It is to be noted that the 11-member NCTF Joypurhat district committee members present every month the various problems of the district to the district police and district administration in addition to this kind of organization every year.
