Jumbangla Desk: The police have arrested Rakibul Islam, one of the associates and armed terrorist of the former MP of Dhaka-14 Constituency and General Secretary of Jubo League Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil in the case of attempted murder of Moinul Islam Turya during the anti-discrimination student movement in Mirpur of the capital . He was arrested by the Mirpur Model Police Station on Monday (November 18) in Barabagh area of ​​Mirpur. Rocky is a member of Mirpur Ward No. 14 Jubo League.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP Media and Public Relations Department Muhammad Talebur Rahman said, Moinul Islam Turya participated in the peaceful movement along with many other students in the anti-discrimination movement on the road in front of Mirpur police station. At that time, the leaders and activists of various organizations of Awami League attacked the protesting anti-discrimination students. The assailants opened fire indiscriminately with cocktail blasts, causing serious injuries in various parts of the body, including the left arm.

The injured Turya was first admitted to the National Heart Institute and later to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment. In this incident, Moinul Islam Turya, the victim, filed a case at Mirpur Model Police Station on November 12 as the plaintiff.

DC Talebur Rahman also said that in this case under investigation, with the help of CCTV footage analysis, intelligence information and technology, accused Rakibul Islam alias Rocky was arrested in the attempted murder case. Legal action has been taken against him.
