A housewife named Taslima Akhtar Tanni (24) committed suicide in Companyganj upazila of Noakhali due to family quarrel and shame with her husband.

On Saturday morning, the police recovered his body from the house of Abdur Rahman Kerani of Ward No. 3 of Charkankra Union of the upazila. Earlier on Friday night he committed suicide.

Deceased Taslima Akter is the daughter of deceased Belal Hossain of Charkankra Union of Tanni Upazila and wife of Akbar Hossain Raihan of Ward No. 9 of the same union.

According to the sources of the local people, quarrels were often seen between Tanni and Raihan. On Friday night, they had an argument over the phone. After that, the housewife committed suicide with the bedroom fan at some point of the night.

Companyganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abdus Sultan said that the body was recovered from the spot and sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
