What the new CEC said after taking oath

He said these things in response to questions from reporters after taking oath on Sunday (November 24).

At this time, CEC said, we have the ability to face any kind of challenge. Earlier, I have faced various challenges while being the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Energy.

Earlier, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) along with the remaining four Election Commissioners (EC) of the newly constituted Election Commission took oath today at noon. Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed administered the oath to them at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court.

Incidentally, former secretary AMM was appointed as the chief election commissioner on Thursday (November 21). Nasir Uddin. Names of four election commissioners were also announced with him.

They are - former additional secretary Anwarul Islam Sarkar, former district and session judge Abdur Rahman Masud, former joint secretary Begum Tahmida Ahmed and Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah

According to Article 118(1) of the Constitution, they were appointed by the President. Sahabuddin.


After being appointed, the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasir Uddin said, "I will do whatever is necessary for a free, fair and acceptable election, inshallah". We have to properly fulfill the responsibility that has come with everyone's cooperation.

Amidst such a situation, on Thursday (November 21), the President formed a new five-member Election Commission under the leadership of retired Secretary AMM Nasir Uddin. This new commission will have the responsibility of organizing the upcoming national parliament elections.
