Jumbangla Desk: The time for submission of asset statements of government employees has been extended by one month. This year's asset statement is supposed to be submitted by November 30, but it can be submitted up to December 31.
This information was given by the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration in a press conference at the secretariat on Sunday (November 24). Mokhles ur Rahman.
He said, we will issue a circular in this regard. No one has submitted a statement of assets in the last 16 years. Many people do not understand how to submit it. The time for this has been extended till December 31.
Earlier, the statement of accounts was supposed to be submitted by December 31 every year, but this year the public administration ministry asked them to submit it by November 30. It was said that the government employees should submit the asset declaration information to the authorities in a sealed envelope for the sake of confidentiality.
The Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979, which were amended in 2002 to curb corruption, provided for the filing of asset statements of public servants every five years. After the interim government took over, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a press release on September 1, instructing government employees to submit asset statements.

Meanwhile, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submission of income tax returns by another month. Taxpayers can submit returns till December 31. The last date for filing returns was 30 November. This time is extended in view of the request of traders and taxpayers.
