He said these things during the first semi-final of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament organized at Barabari Shaheed Abul Kashem Mahavidyalaya ground of Lalmonirhat on Saturday (November 23) afternoon. Gayeshwar Roy said, 'The people of our country understand less about reforms, before that they understand the prices of goods, whether they are decreasing or increasing. Now people say they want a country free of drugs and terrorism. Does not want major reforms. This reform is not for the people, this reform is for those who run the country. They should not be selfish.'

Commenting that democracy has not reached our hands, Gayeshwar Roy said, 'The chief adviser of the government has to say, when will this path end. People are not sitting to listen to you and me today. They want to hear about electing representatives through voting. The freedom we wanted to see has not yet come. So our struggle is not over yet.'
