Own Correspondent, Gazipur: A woman garment worker named Farida Begum (44) drowned in Shitalakshya water in Kaliganj of Gazipur. Police recovered the body from the hospital on Sunday (November 24) afternoon and sent the body to the morgue of Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased Farida Begum is the daughter of Moktar Molla of Kumurtia village of Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur. Widow Farida lived in Moolgaon village of Kaliganj municipality and worked as a worker in a garment factory located in Kazirchar area of ​​Danga union of Palash upazila.

The OC said that the police recovered the body from the hospital after getting information. Later, the dead body was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. A wrongful death case (No. 74) was registered in the police station in the morning in this incident.

According to local sources, Farida Begum was returning to Moolgaon with other workers in her own trawler of the garment factory after the office holiday on Saturday night. At that time, Farida suddenly fell into the Shitalakshya river and drowned when she reached the area adjacent to Phuleswari Pran Ghat. His colleagues on the trawler along with the immediate locals went down the river to search for him. At one stage, his body was recovered and taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
