Own Correspondent, Gazipur: The university authorities are announcing three days of mourning from Monday (November 25) after the tragic death of three students of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) located in Bord Bazar, Gazipur .

During this time the flag of the university will be at half mast. Apart from this, the academic activities of the university will be suspended for one week, the university authorities said.

This information was informed in a press release of the university on Sunday (November 24).

According to the notification, three students of the third year of Mechanical and Production Engineering Department of IUT died tragically in a tragic accident last Saturday morning while going for a picnic at Mati Maya Eco Resort located in Sreepur, Gazipur. The university authorities are saddened by this incident. Three other students of the same department were injured in the accident and are currently undergoing treatment. The university authorities will extend their best possible cooperation in the treatment of the injured students.

The IUT flag will be flown at half-mast from November 25 to 27 to honor the souls of the students who lost their lives in the heartbreaking incident. A Ghaibana Janaza was held at IUT's mosque after the Isha prayer on November 23.

Also, as a mark of respect and in recognition of the gravity of the tragedy, all academic activities have been suspended for a week. A high-level inquiry committee has been constituted by the university to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The university authorities expressed deep grief over the loss. The university authorities expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased.
