Jumbangla Desk: Miscreants killed a former leader of the extremist party who surrendered in Santhiya, Pabna.

The incident took place in Rauti village of Dhopadah union of the upazila at around 10 pm on Sunday (November 24).

Deceased Bakul Islam (45) son of Roshan Ali of Rauti village. He was a carriage driver by profession.

Confirming the matter, Santhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saidur Rahman told the media that at night, Bakul Islam was returning by delivering paddy to the local Jalal Master in a horse carriage. On the way, miscreants hacked and killed him by slitting his throat. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

He also said that after the investigation, the real reason for the murder will be known.

Incidentally, four murders took place in Pabna this November . Also, the naval police recovered two bodies from the Padma river this month
