It is known that Naeem, a pedestrian, and Abu Hayat and Nahid, who were passengers in the rickshaw, identified him during the accident on Tuesday. Among them, Naeem is the operator of Onik Enterprises, the contractor for the under-construction library building. The other two, Abu Hayat and Nahid, are construction workers of the Sociology Extension Building.
Naeem, operator of Anik Enterprises, said, 'I was going towards the library by Shaheed Minar. As soon as the accident happened, I heard the scream and ran. The girl was brought to the medical center at 7:52 in a serious condition. I was able to identify the rickshaw puller a lot.'
Nahid and Hayat, construction workers of Mallick Brothers, said, 'We took this rickshaw from Tarzan at that time. We are sure this is the rickshaw. He changed the rickshaw seat. Its front lights were broken; They are still there. The underside of the car has been repainted. I saw with my hands, the rickshaw has been painted new.'
In this regard, University Proctor Professor Rashidul Alam said, 'When we found him based on various sources, he had a lot of pain in his left hand. The side of his neck also has injury marks. He said it was a pain of 15 days ago. We asked which doctor showed it. After seeing the medical doctor later, it was confirmed that he had been injured somewhere very recently. We think that he got hurt from the accident that day.'
Meanwhile, the rickshaw puller Arju tried to sell the rickshaw after the accident on 19th. The damaged rickshaw had no front glass, the headlight was broken. They are newly repaired. The red seats are replaced with blue seats. This has been confirmed by listening to the statements of the rickshaw passengers Abu Hayat and Nahid.
Apart from this, the rickshaw has the smell of new paint and signs of fitting a new hood. When the rickshaw was brought to the proctor's office in the university, it was checked by the police and security guards.
Based on the statement of the accused Arju, it is known that before Sunday afternoon, he sold the rickshaw to a person named Masud, the owner of 'Masud Auto Parts' in Chayabithi area of Savar for only 75 thousand taka. Even to avoid suspicion, the sale deed mentions the date of November 18, the day before the accident.
Arju, the rickshaw puller, said in the preliminary inquiry, 'I don't actually drive a rickshaw. I had pain in my hand since 15 days ago. The battery of the rickshaw was a little bad, so I sold it at a low price. I was not in Jahangirnagar that day.'
