Jumbangla Desk: The Ministry of Health has issued 10 instructions with restrictions on the entry of representatives of pharmaceutical companies into hospitals. This directive has been given with the aim of ensuring good treatment of all those injured in the anti-discrimination student uprising in public and private hospitals and for further development of the hospital's medical services.
On November 18, an instruction signed by Umm Habiba, the deputy secretary of the health care department, has been sent to all hospitals in the country. Strict legal action has been taken in case of failure to comply with the instructions.
According to the directive, all public and private hospitals should ensure proper treatment of those injured in the mass uprising of anti-discrimination students. Injured patients arriving at the hospital should be treated on a priority basis. All injured persons should be treated free of charge. Apart from this, if someone is unable to receive treatment in private hospitals, then the government will bear the cost of the medicine of the injured person under treatment in that hospital. In this case the appropriate bill-voucher will be verified and paid if submitted to the Health Department.
Also, if any of the injured persons under treatment need to be sent abroad for better treatment (those whose treatment is not possible in the country and those who will be cured or improved if sent abroad), the application of the injured person with appropriate records should be sent to the health care department on an urgent basis, according to the advice of the concerned medical board.
The directive also states that visitor cards should be introduced for all eligible visitors to the hospital. No visitor without a visitor card can enter or stay inside the hospital or in patient rooms. The hospital authorities will confirm the matter.
Apart from this, representatives of any drug company or dealers of various companies cannot enter the hospital in any way. Every doctor and all medical personnel must follow the patient visit schedule and test schedule properly.
Hospital reception desk should be set up in every hospital to provide orderly medical services. Arrangements should be made to refer patients arriving at the reception room to selected doctors according to the type of disease.
It is said in the instructions that the matter of buying tickets for the service seekers coming to the hospital should be disciplined. Digital systems should be introduced in all possible hospitals in this regard. Any person not registered or certified by the competent authority shall not be attached to any hospital at any stage of providing treatment. The hospital authorities have to confirm the matter.
