Jumbangla Desk: Doctors working under the health care department cannot travel abroad more than twice a year to attend meetings, seminars, trainings and workshops. They have to follow this new rule from January 1.
This policy was published in an office order signed by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health Mohammad Abdul Hai on Sunday (November 24).
It said, until further orders, doctors working in offices or organizations under the Department of Health Care are directed to follow this policy in the case of foreign participation.
According to the policy, a candidate can go to foreign seminars, meetings, symposiums, trainings or workshops, maximum twice in a year (last 12 months). Candidates can be invited only in the subject in which they are experienced or directly involved (holding responsibility). Candidates can travel by invitation in the subject they are studying.

Apart from this, the photo of the joining and completion day of the program must be submitted as foreign proof. Applications forwarded through proper channels should have recommendations from the head of the institution or department and the directorate of health. Before proceeding, the invitation letter received by the head of the institution or department must be verified and certified by writing the conditions from number 1 to number 9 (Verified and Found OK). The office order further states that the above instructions will be effective from January 1, 2025 for participation of doctors in seminars, meetings, symposiums, training or workshops abroad on the basis of invitation.
