The workers blocked the Chandra-Navinagar highway and occupied the road since Monday morning. Due to this, traffic on the road is closed. On the other hand, due to security and other reasons, some factories in the vicinity have declared a holiday for today.

According to the Shilpa Police, after blocking the highway for four hours on Sunday evening, they left the highway at night, but they again blocked the Chandra-Navigar highway at Chakraborty from 9 am on Monday. Almost half of the workers at Beximco Industrial Park have received their salaries for the month of October. Those who have not yet received their salaries are once again taking to the streets to demand the arrears.

The workers claim that many of them have received their salaries for the month of October, but none of them who are in the movement have received their salaries. They will leave the road if they get paid.

According to police and labor sources, there are about 40 thousand workers in at least 10 factories of Beximco Industrial Park in Sarabo area of Kashimpur police station of Gazipur metropolis. Among them, garment factory workers have not received their salaries for the month of October. Workers have been protesting since November 14 to demand salary. From 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, the authorities sent messages to the mobile phones of many workers asking them to get their salary. After receiving the salary, the workers withdrew their blockade from the road around 8:30 that night. When the workers moved out, traffic started on the Chandra-Navinagar road. The highway was normal on Friday and Saturday. But after waiting all day on Sunday, many workers did not get their desired small message and blocked the road again in the evening. Which started from Monday morning after Sunday night break.

Due to the blockade of the important road, the normal traffic on that route is being disrupted. Road users are traveling in battery powered rickshaws, auto rickshaws. North Bengal's long-distance vehicles continue to connect with the capital Dhaka via the Dhamrai regional road from Gazipur and Kaliakoi on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.

In this regard, Abu Taleb, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Beximco Industrial Area of Gazipur Industrial Police-2, said, "Although some workers have received their salary, many have not yet received their due salary." Because of this, the Chandra-Navinagar road has been blocked since morning and the traffic has stopped. If the blockade is lifted, traffic will resume.'
