The then US President Trump was defeated by Biden in the 2020 election. But he refused to accept his defeat. He raised false allegations of election fraud. Biden officially took over as US President in January 2021. But Trump broke the tradition and refrained from attending his inauguration ceremony.

But Biden is not following Trump's path. He will attend Trump's swearing-in ceremony, according to the White House, which is Biden's commitment to American democratic values.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates told reporters that the outgoing president has already pledged to attend the inauguration of whoever wins the 2024 US election.


Andrew Bates also said that the President (Joe Biden) and First Lady (Jill Biden) are going to honor that commitment. They will attend the inauguration ceremony.

The US presidential election was held on November 5. Donald Trump of the Republican Party defeated the candidate of the Democratic Party and the current US Vice President Kamala Harris in the election. With this victory, he is returning to the White House for the second term. He has already finished organizing his administration.
