Pakistan is now in a state of turmoil due to the mass march to Islamabad called by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the resignation of the current government. The country's capital, Islamabad, has been virtually blocked by protests. Which is led by Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi.
Several people have already been injured and killed in this protest. In this situation, the government has no option but to use force against the protesters, the defense minister said.
Speaking on Geo News' program 'Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath', the PML-N leader said, 'He (Bushra) knows that he is close to D-chowk and has become a leader. So he will press his advantage. They (PTI) believe they have an advantage. So they will advance to Islamabad.'
Asif was of the view that the government should express its 'clear cut' determination to protect the capital at any cost and especially when a foreign dignitary, the President of Belarus, is visiting the country.
On Bushra leadership, Khawaja said the former first lady waited a lifetime for the opportunity to become a leader. And now he got that opportunity. So he will take this advantage now.
When asked whether the government will negotiate with Bushra, he said that Bushra Bibi is not in the 'mood' to compromise. The power is in his hands and he can feel it. Moreover, Imran knows that his wife is controlling the situation.'
