BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia went to the American Embassy in Dhaka. On Wednesday (November 27) at 2:22 pm, he went to the embassy from his residence Feroza.

According to sources, he went to the embassy to give his finger print for the US visa. At this time, Khaleda Zia is accompanied by her personal physician and member of the standing committee Dr. A ZM Zahid Hossain, party's organizing secretary Shama Obaid.
He received treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital under the supervision of a medical board. The BNP Chairperson was sent to jail on February 8, 2018 after a special court in Dhaka sentenced him to five years imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
On October 30 that year, the High Court increased his sentence to 10 years. He was later found guilty in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the previous Awami League government temporarily released Khaleda Zia through an executive order on March 25, 2020. His sentence was suspended on the condition that he stay at Gulshan residence and not leave the country.
After Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India in the face of the student uprising on August 5, President Md. On August 6, the President commuted Khaleda Zia's sentence on the authority given in Article 49 of the Sahabuddin Constitution.
