International Desk: The former Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak has been acquitted of the case related to the embezzlement and money laundering of the state fund One MDB. Treasury Secretary General Irwan Seriger Abdullah was also acquitted in the same case.
The Kuala Lumpur High Court on Wednesday (Nov 27) acquitted them of the case.
Their lawyers said the Kuala Lumpur High Court made the ruling due to procedural delays and the prosecution's failure to disclose key documents.
Najib's lawyer Muhammad Farhan Muhammad Shafi said in a text message that the court complied with the law. The court gave this verdict because the charges against my client were not proved.
