According to a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association , if you can stand on one leg for at least 20 seconds, you will know that you have good overall health, including your heart. 841 women and 546 men participated in this study. Their average age was 67 years.

Participants kept their eyes open while standing on one leg. The maximum time to hold one leg up was 60 seconds. In this test, participants who were unable to maintain their balance were at a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.


The study's lead author and associate professor at the Center for Genomic Medicine at Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, Yasuharu Taberar, said that the ability to stand on one leg is also an important test for brain health.

According to him, those who cannot stand on one leg are at higher risk of brain diseases and mental health. Again, it is known whether there is a risk of heart attack or stroke or not through this test. Regular practice of standing on one leg will also bring benefits.
