Such a baseless statement by India is not only spreading misinformation, but is contrary to the spirit of friendship and understanding between the two neighboring countries. The statement did not reflect the harmony that exists among people of all religions in Bangladesh and the commitment and efforts of the government towards secularism.

India's statement completely ignores the government's determination to end the culture of impunity that perpetuates grave human rights abuses on the people of Bangladesh and the vision of the majority and the minority alike, the statement said.
