Jumbangla Desk: Onion import has started through Hili land port of Dinajpur as West Bengal Government of India has introduced online slot booking. Five trucks loaded with onions entered the country through the port at around 11:30 on Wednesday (27 November).

Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi, president of Hili land port's import and export group, said that Indian businessmen could not export onions and potatoes due to the closure of slot bookings from India. By doing this they suffer a lot of losses. Because of this they stopped exporting all products. After the problem was solved on Tuesday (November 26) night, import of onion started again from Wednesday morning. However, potatoes have not been imported yet.

He also said that all kinds of products will be imported from India soon after overcoming all the problems.

Onion import through Dinajpur's Hili land port was stopped since last three days due to slot booking in India. And because of this, Indian businessmen stopped exporting all kinds of products from Tuesday afternoon.

Import of potato and onion from India through Hili land port in Dinajpur was stopped from Tuesday (November 26) morning due to slot booking complications. However, two truckloads of potatoes booked in the previous slot were imported on Monday (November 25).
