Jumbangla Desk: Retired Justice of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Press Council. AKM Abdul Hakim. He has been appointed on contractual basis for a period of three years.
A notification has been issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (November 27).
According to the notification, as per Section 42(2) and 5(1) of the Press Council Act, 1974, Abdul Hakeem is on the condition that he renounces any other profession, business or work relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution/organization. He got the appointment. The notification informed that this appointment will be effective from the date of joining.
